Contributions/Involvement:
Mr. Mannes presented a poster entitled “Coping with Loneliness: An Examination of Male and Female Substance Use among Underserved HIV+ Adults 50 and Older” at the SHARC Conference in April, 2015. In collaboration with SHARC mentor Nicole Whitehead, Ph.D., Mr. Mannes’ paper entitled “Loneliness and Substance Use: The Influence of Gender among HIV+ Black/African American Adults 50+” was recently accepted for publication in AIDS Care, Psychological and Socio-medical Aspects of AIDS/HIV. In the future, Mr. Mannes hopes to become actively involved in the Florida Cohort Study.
